Teen Studio: Printmaking with Paige Dirksen
Bring out your inner artist in this creative workshop just for teens!
Led by local artist Paige Dirksen, we’ll be designing and carving your own personal stamp, then using your design to create a custom-printed bandana. You’ll learn the fundamentals of linocut printing, including how to carve, ink, and print your design onto any fabric or paper and make your mark on the world.
No experience with printing or design? No problem. You’ll get step-by-step guidance to help your vision come to life in style. Beginner-friendly, this program is open to all experience levels and includes all necessary supplies.
Free, no tickets required.
Per the CDC’s updated guidelines, we are now requiring all guests ages 2 and up and staff to wear a face covering indoors and while attending outdoor programs, except while eating or drinking. Masks will be available upon entry for those who do not have one. We will observe social distancing during this program.
About the Artist
Paige Dirksen is an artist/printmaker residing in Bella Vista, Arkansas. She earned a BA in Studio Art/Psychology from the University of Northern Iowa and an MA in Art Therapy Counseling from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Paige launched her art business and website in 2020 and primarily works with woodcuts and other forms of printmaking to make botanical and abstract modern prints. “As I work on my own art, I am constantly thinking about the psychological aspects of the creative process and the ways in which creating with our hands can be very life-enhancing. Printmaking, particularly relief printing on textiles, has always been very meditative for me.”
